The Red Shoes Lineup is as follows:
Sinead Conway (Vocals) Now studying for a Degree in Music Performance at the DIT Conservatory, Sinead was a member of vocal sibling group ‘The Conway Sisters’, who made it to the final six in ‘The X Factor’ in 2005. While Sinead is a Classically trained singer she is also heavily influenced by, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Pop and sings with a number of bands around the country including ‘The DIT Big Band’. It was within one of these bands that Sinead encountered Steve Kohlmann, drummer with Red Shoes. A child of the 80’s, Sinead is the ideal vocalist for Red Shoes' superbly produced live sound. Dave Mulligan (Guitars) Dave Mulligan made the break from the software world to fulltime music in 2003, having played the guitar since the age of 7. He immediately joined Newpark Jazz School and received a B.A in jazz performance in 2007. “It’s great to play this amazing music with such a great bunch of accomplished musicians. I love jazz sounds and funky rhythms combined, and music that people can really dance to at any party. For me the 80’s was a high point for that kind of music and Red Shoes was formed with that in mind.” Patrice Brun (Saxophones and Flute) Patrice Brun is a French saxophonist based in Dublin since 1998. Classically trained in France at a young age, in 1991 he started playing with various local progressive rock, blues and jazz bands. In 1996 he was playing with l'Orchestre International Bernard Becker. On coming to Ireland he studied and graduated in jazz performance at the Newpark Music Centre, Blackrock, Ireland and is now a teacher there. He says of Red Shoes - “I’m excited to be playing music that has so many great brass sections in it - in Red Shoes it’s a rare moment when I’m not playing something!” Paul Enright (Keyboards) Paul has finally found the best home for his talents after a classical start and a variety of pop, jazz & soul excursions. This band combines his love of all the above. “It’s great to be able produce music with such a professional group of musicians that is both enjoyable to play, and that can bring enjoyment to a lot of people.” William McGlynn (Electric and Double Basses) William Mc Glynn has worked as a bassist in many genres including jazz, classical and rock . Also an accomplished guitarist William teaches guitar and bass at the Gorey Music Centre and the Carlow College of Music. He is a former member of the National Orchestra of Wales and is Musical Director/Conducter of the Kilkenny Chamber Orchestra. Steve Kohlmann (Drums) Steve took up drums when he was 15. Now 25, he has been playing all over Ireland for 9 years. Having finished a diploma in music management he went on to complete a degree in jazz performance from Newpark Jazz School, where he met Dave and Patrice.
